Tame Impala at the start of its 2013 North America tour in Vancouver.
The band previously played the Sasquatch music festival at the Gorge in Washington and Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and is on tour for its second album, 2012’s Lonerism.
The album is the follow-up to the group’s 2010 debut, Innerspeaker. Pitchfork awarded the album its Best New Music designation the week of release. Innerspeaker featured prominently on many 2010 end-of-year Best Of lists from Pitchfork and Stereogum, among others, and was warmly received by Spin, Nylon, Esquire, LA Times, Billboard, Iand more.
Since the Australian group finished touring Innerspeaker, one half of the band (Jay Watson and Nick Allbrook) has been on the road with sideproject Pond, while Kevin Parker started Lonerism. Since its completion earlier in the year, guitarist and keyboard player Dom Simper has recorded his own solo cover version of the record.
