Toronto band The Balconies stopped in at Neptoon Records for an in-store appearance Saturday Oct 20. The Balconies were in Vancouver supporting Wide Mouth Mason and Big Sugar for two shows at the Commodore Ballroom.

The Balconies formed in Ottawa. Siblings Jacquie and Stephen Neville are on guitar/vocals and bass respectively, Liam Jaeger is on drums. They released a self-produced debut in 2009 and more recently, the Kill Count EP. For help with “Do It In the Dark”, they’ recruited Arnold Lanni, a big-time Toronto producer who has bequeathed upon the world records by Our Lady Peace, among others. Alon Isocianu at Reactiv Pictures directed the video for the song.

In early October, the band spent a week in Los Angeles, as one of three Canadian bands selected to play at FILTER Magazine’s 2012 Culture Collide Festival.
