What people are saying about Niki + The Dove:
“..All 12 of its songs manage to be equally arresting, flitting between the sound of Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Cyndi Lauper, and trashy Europop, while delighting in tiny but pivotal moments, sites of emotional precipices and tremendous, history-making passions.” –Â PitchforkÂ
“They’re refreshingly warm where Swedish peers the Knife are intentionally cold; they’re consistent where Florence + the Machine are spotty; they’re accessible where Bat for Lashes is elusive. Recorded while the pair’s profile was rising, Instinct sounds as though these vets knew that this was their moment to hustle like rookies while polishing like pros.” –Â SPIN
“Awash with grand ambitions, Niki & The Dove is one of the few bands whose grasp actually matches their reach. The result is dazzling…” –Â Under the Radar
“Her voice has the same something we love in so many Nordic pop singers that we promised ourselves we wouldn’t mention, those inimitable fragile gasps and massive roars. Dahlström’s voice crags out like a haunted Stevie Nicks singing off a lighthouse balcony…dramatic!” - THE FADER
“The band’s promising distinctive electronic pop overlays should be held accountable for the earworm syndrome with Niki& The Dove. Their songs are full of magic and light but with an unsettling darkness hidden beneath the surface.” -Â FILTER
“…It’s a beautiful, emotive celebration of the power of pop when it’s been made for the love of the art.” –BBC
“They deserve to have the whole word hear these songs. Heck they deserve some sort of Nobel Pop Prize.” [8/10] -Â NME
“Instinct is a multi-layered album that is meant to be consumed whole, which is what I love most about it. You can grind to it on the dancefloor, or let it bump from your nightstand as you unwind, but whatever you do, don’t fight the impulses Niki & the Dove gives you to hit repeat.” – Â Glamour
