M3GAN extras are included in an upcoming VOD, DVD, and Blu-Ray release.

A new, unrated M3GAN comes to VOD and Blu-Ray

The sleeper scary-doll hit M3GAN arrives in an all-new unrated version on VOD March 21 and on Blu-ray and DVD April 4.

The unrated version includes M3GAN extras “including a breakdown of the creation of M3GAN and behind-the-scenes featurettes showcasing the film’s complex stunts and gory deaths,” according to the media release. In the movie itself, viewers can expect “more distressing violence and profanity.”

The movie is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 95 percent. As of this writing, the Universal Pictures/Blumhouse/Atomic Monster release, in association with Divide/Conquer, has made over $167m at the global box office. Gerald Johnstone (Housebound) directed the film.

Since its Jan. 6 release, the film has become a pop-culture phenomenon, even earning a satirical filmed skit on SNL. In M3GAN 2.0, cast member Chloe Fineman plays the killer toy.

Allison Williams is a brilliant roboticist in M3GAN

In the film, Allison Williams (Girls, Get Out) stars as Gemma, the brilliant (are there any other kind?) toy-company roboticist who creates M3GAN. The AI-powered life-like doll takes her programming, to be a child’s greatest companion, to the extreme. Paired with Williams’ newly orphaned eight-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), M3GAN proves to be even scarier than Microsoft’s new AI-powered Bing.

M3GAN extras include:

A New Vision of Horror – Filmmakers and cast break down how the world of M3GAN was created.

Bringing Life to M3GAN – We see how animatronics, puppets, and actor Amie Donald helped make M3GAN “as real as possible.”

Getting Hacked – Cast and crew demonstrate how they came up with some of the film’s stunts and deaths.

This is a Universal Pictures Home Entertainment release.
