Earlier this year he released At What Cost. The 14-track offering includes contributions from guests KAYTRANADA, Wale, Shy Glizzy, and more.

GoldLink’s real name is D’Anthony Carlos. The American rapper is originally from Washington, DC. In 2014, he released his debut mixtape, The God Complex. The following year, he released his second mixtape, And After That, We Didn’t Talk. It includes the singles “Dance on Me” and “Spectrum”.

At What Cost is his debut solo album. Its lead single, “Crew”, peaked at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

On the inspiration behind the project, GoldLink said in a media release: “I made At What Cost as an ode to my hometown. It’s about the essence of Go-Go and how it’s shaped the city and where I am from, the people, the attitude. I don’t want gentrification to overlook what Go-Go has done and how it’s shaped the city.” (Go-Go is a subgenre of funk and originated in Washington.)
