Haim Saturday night in Vancouver.

The Malkin Bowl show marks the return of the L.A.-based band, which consists of the Haim sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana. The band is on tour for their 2013 debut, Days Are Gone.

Reviewing the group’s previous show in Vancouver, Ria Nevada wrote, “At times, Haim’s overexcitement led to them yelling out the verses and muddying their bright melodies, but the girls were absolutely at ease in front of the crowd. They chatted with folks up front, were liberal with high fives, thrashed on their guitars and whipped their long locks as if they were back in their parents’ garage back in the San Fernando Valley. They jammed to the bluesy-country song ‘The Wire’ like seasoned pros, then casually switched it up for the cool, seductive synth track ‘Go Slow’.”

The band has been critically acclaimed and nominated for several awards, especially by the British press. In 2013, Alana Haim (aka Baby Haim) won an NME award for Best Twitter. At the 2014 NME Awards, Haim won for Best International Band and Best Band Blog or Twitter (Alana, again).
