Lights brought her Siberia Acoustic Tour to the Rio Theatre in Vancouver for two-sold-out shows May 3 and 4. Kevin Fox accompanies her on cello.

Said photog Nicole Leung of the 26-year-old singer/songwriter’s performance: ”

“Show was great. Lights is really sweet! She mentioned her first acoustic performance when she was 17-18 years old in a Langley cafe and asked if anyone knew it was open as if she’d consider revisiting.

“As with Lianna La Havas‘ performance, it was really intimate. She said she felt like she could hear the audience members breathing. With the small venue brightly lit, Lights spotted a familiar face, and shared with us how she remembered the boy’s act of kindness. At one point we were discussing the first songs we remember hearing. It felt like a polite and energetic classroom discussion.

“The intimacy added a great community feeling of unified support. During a piano piece, she messed up a line, stopped midway and face-palmed. But the fans immediately shouted reassurances, ‘YOU CAN DO IT!’ She went over the lines with us to confirm. Lovely fans and a great performance.”
