Bands with Cats – Raffael from Did You Die with Isis and Onyx
– by Cheena Jean Normandin
Your bands and role: I’m Raffael Ceppetelli and I play bass in Did You Die.
What are your cats’ names? Isis and Onyx.
What are your cats’ origin stories?
The cats were adopted by my girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and they became part of my life when I moved in.
Who feeds your cats?
My girlfriend Amanda and I take turns feeding them. They like fancy all-natural fish food. Dry stuff. Sometimes we give them tuna and call them crack babies because they won’t stop meowing for it.
What do you think your cats’ theme songs are?
Isis is more chill, so she would probably like “Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding.
Onyx’s would definitely be “War Pigs” by Black Sabbath.
What is the most impressive thing that your cats have murdered?
Isis is pretty chill, but Onyx likes to hunt. Nothing especially impressive though. Mostly rats and small birds proudly brought into our bedroom or left at our front door in the morning.
If your cat sees a GIANT spider, what is its course of action?
Attack attack attack.
Where is the last inconvenient place that your cat has fallen asleep?
On my head, on my back, on my legs. Pretty much everywhere. Last night on my feet, only to be thrown off the bed when I rolled over in my sleep.
If your cats threw a raging party, what are the staples on the playlist?
Since they are both pretty old, they’re probably throwing more of a small, quiet get-together with friends. I think it would involve Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly, with some Dylan and C.C.R. thrown in there. Later in the night, shots of whiskey with Johnny Cash on repeat.
If you wake up in a Freaky Friday situation with your feline, what’s the first course of action?
I’d probably make sure that the other neighbourhood cats knew who was in charge in the back alleys.
