Coastal Youth Choir, Veda Hille, Brasstronaut and Bocephus King were among the performers helping launch Vancouver’s 2014 PuSh International Performing Arts Festival on Wednesday night. The musicians were all tasked with covering each other’s music. Charles Demers hosted the evening’s entertainment, which was curated by Mark Andrew Hamilton (aka Woodpigeon).
The 10th edition of the PuSh Festival is scheduled for Jan. 14 – February 2, 2014. The lineup for Club PuSh, at Performance Works on Granville Island, has also been announced. The lineup includes:
Gord Grdina’s Haram (Jan. 17, 10 p.m., $10) – Arabic music, from Iraqi folk to Egyptian radio music lovingly reinterpreted.
