Toronto elected a new mayor on Monday, Oct 27 – but not before the city’s Lunacy Cabaret burlesqued the whole shebang.

Saturday night’s Lunacy Cabaret: Mayoral Masquerade was hosted by Dave McKay aka Sketchy the Clown, and took place at Centre of Gravity, 1300 Gerrard St. East.

Lunacy Cabaret has been labeled “a low rent, punk rock Cirque du Soleil” by Toronto Life. According to the LC website, it’s the “longest-running circus cabaret in Toronto.” It “showcases foolish clowns, skilled circus artists and fearless aerialists, uninhibited burlesque dancers, clever sketch and character comedy, and silly slappers of the stick! The endless buffoonery is applauded and appreciated by an audience of costumed revelers!”
