Originally from Portland, the band currently resides in Los Angeles. The core group consists of Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans. The name “YACHT” is often stylized as YACHT, Yâ–³CHT or Yâ–²CHT.

The group’s latest release is an EP, Strawberry Moon. It follows six full-length albums, beginning with 2004’s Super Warren MMIV. Their most recent full-length is 2015’s I Thought the Future Would Be Cooler.
