Mitski the Biltmore Cabaret, Vancouver. The singer/songwrier is on tour for her fourth album, Puberty 2.

Mitski performed with a drummer and guitarist for a sold-out crowd. She performed most of 2016’s Puberty 2 along with songs from her 2014 album, Bury Me at Make Out Creek. For the last part of the set and the encore, she performed solo.

According to the Mitski Wiki bio, “… she was born in Japan and grew up surrounded by her mother’s 1970s pop CDs. Her family moved frequently, from Japan to the Democratic Republic of Congo to Malaysia to China to Turkey, among other countries, before coming to New York City.” She released her debut album Lush in 2012, followed by Retired from Sad, New Career in Business the following year and Bury Me at Make Out Creek.

This was the singer’s second Vancouver show in support of Puberty 2; she also played the Cobalt in 2016.

Kadhja Bonet opened the show. The L.A.-based soul singer recently released her critically acclaimed debut album, The Visitor.
