Phantogram playing a sold-out Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. The show comes near the start of the North American tour for their latest album, Three.
The New York-bred duo is comprised of Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter. The New York Times, Pitchfork, Stereogum, The Fader, Rolling Stone, Complex, Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, New York Magazine, Vogue, Elle, Interview, Lena Dunham‘s Lenny Letter and more have listed the album, the group’s third, as one of the most anticipated of the year.
The single “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” preceded the album. Phantogram played the song on The Tonight Show and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Additional tracks “Cruel World”, “Same Old Blues”, “Run Run Blood”, “Calling All” and “You’re Mine” have also been previewed.
The group debuted in 2014 with their album Voices. They have been sampled by Kanye West, The Game and A$AP Rocky. Last year, they collaborated with Big Boi of Outkast on the Big Grams EP.
On Thursday, Oct 13, Phantogram announced they will team with Tumblr IRL and artist Ben Zank in Boulder Colorado for an intimate collaborative performance that will tie together the themes from the new album about “finding calm amongst chaos.”
