Mr. Little Jeans in Vancouver Tuesday night. The Norwegian singer aka Monica Birkenes is winding up the West Coast leg of her North American tour for her new EP, Fevers.
The EP includes the single “Stitches”. Longtime Mr. Little Jeans collaborator Tim Anderson (Banks, Halsey) produced the EP, which features two brand new songs – the aforementioned “Stitches”, and the title track. Previously released Spotify and blog favourites “Fool 4 You” and “Waking Up” are also on the EP.
Mr. Little Jeans, the early years
Birkenes was born and raised in the seaside town of Grimstad, Norway. Now based in Los Angeles, she released her debut album as Mr. Little Jeans – the name comes from a minor character in Wes Anderson‘s 1998 film Rushmore – in 2014. Pocketknife, the album, featured the single “Good Mistake”.
Birkenes’ breakout song was a cover of Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”. Her version of the Montreal band’s song has racked up millions of plays on YouTube and SoundCloud alone. Her music has also appeared in commercials, TV shows, and in several movies.
