Explosions in the Sky at the first of two shows in Vancouver Sunday night.

The instrumental rock group released their latest album The Wilderness in April. Tracks include the singles “Disintegration Anxiety” and “Logic of a Dream”.

According to Wikipedia, “The quartet originally played under the name Breaker Morant, then changed to the current name in 1999.” The Texas band often plays with a fifth member live. They released their debut How Strange, Innocence, in 2000. The Wilderness is their seventh album.

The band’s music has been featured in a number of commercials, movies, and TV shows, including Friday Night Lights, a BBC documentary called Lost Land of the Jaguar, and the movie The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. A number of One Tree Hill episodes are named after the band’s songs.
