Suddenly Victoria Beckham is a “fashion maven”?

That’s what the Vancouver Sun is calling the soccer wife. But for many, Becks will always be known as Posh Spice, the haughty, cheekboned figure in the Spice Girls.

In a story published June 12, the Sun confirms that Beckham will descend upon Vancouver June 15 (Friday) to “promote her Victoria Beckham and Victoria, Victoria Beckham collections”.

What the Sun story doesn’t mention is that Beckham/Posh – along with her sisters in spice – will be subject of an art show here in Vancouver, just a few weeks later.

Opening July 7 at the Fall Tattoo and Art Gallery (644 Seymour Street), Zig-a-Zigallery: A Spice Girls Art Show will showcase local artists’ Spice Girls-inspired fan art. Curator Christina Chant, who previously brought us Will You Bill Murray Me?, a Bill Murray art tribute, is once again behind this once-in-a-lifetime event.
