Mason Rack plays the blues.
Slide style. He’s from Australia.
Just like another Aussie band,
The Re-Mains, when he tours
Canada, it’s not for two weeks,
or three or four.
(They’ve got courage to tour
hard, long. Brave Captains.)
It’s for months. Many, many
months. Back and forth.
Across this vast land. He found
a couple of musicians from
Canada, via the internet.
Joel on drums and Marcus
on bass. He finds inspiration
from within, his competitive
personality, from emotions
and
hardships. From his deceased
father, Billy. From “old blues dudes”
and Led Zeppelin, too.
He’s returning to
Winnipeg for a few
shows. I missed him
the last time.
I won’t miss
Mason Rack
this time.
The King’s Head on Friday,
November 6th.
The Connection Showroom
on Pembina (I’m not familiar
with this venue) on Saturday,
November 7th.
and
The Ellice Cafe and Theatre
(early show, all ages, doors
at 7:30) on Tuesday,
November 10th.
There is a very compelling
reason why
I won
‘t dare miss Mason Rack this time.
John Hak.

Dancer.
now, sometime ago, John and I
were talking about some hot shows
and he mentioned
Mason Rack. well,
he gushed over Mason Rack’s
passionate playing
and performance.
A show i wanted to go to
but couldn’t fit into my crazy
schedule
(i go for entire sets,
that’s my thing, 80, 90.
full sets every month,
until, this September.
when i regained some
Insanity, and went down
to the lower 40s)
now, here’s
the why
I must see
Mason Rack
John Hak
stayed, for every set
Mason Rack played
at The King’s Head
(there are usually three)
Mason Rack
held
John Hak
steady,
well,
John danced!
but
John stayed.
and then, John drove several hours
the next day? to see Mason Rack
play again.
When John Hak
feels that strongly about a musician
I know
Mason Rack rocks
harder
stronger
than most anyone

i emailed Mason and wanted to have an email
conversation with him. But the calendar
keeps
moving and i want to get this on guttersnipe
before
Friday’s show
at The King’s Head.
i know i need to see Mason Rack.
i know John Hak will be there.
That’s good enough for me.
I Love that beautiful
dancing man.
ps. John Hak joined facebook 6 weeks ago, he has over 1,500 friends! to see and talk to John, to dance with John, you’ll know that he knows tens of thousands of people, next month, he’ll be up to 2,500 facebook friends, at least!
