Sleeping Beauty, a film by Julia Leigh starring Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), is one of the most talked-about movies at the Cannes Film Festival so far this year.

Written and directed by Leigh, a novelist known for her 1999 book The Hunter, the movie has divided critics at Cannes. According to the New York Times, Sleeping Beauty is “An icy, perverse revision of the classic fairy tale with shades of Luis Bunuel and Catherine Breillat… it was received with boos and applause at the press screening.”
