Singer/songwriter/musician Paul Kelly will play two consecutive shows at the Electric Owl on Sept 18 and 19, and we’ve got a great prize pack to celebrate the shows.
The Australian musician has performed for over 30 years and has released 17 studio albums. As the press release states, Kelly’s albums showcase his “emotionally vivid, musically expansive songwriting, capturing the essence of the Australian landscape.”
In recent years, Kelly released a long-running series of A-Z shows, in which he works his way through an alphabetical list of more than 100 songs during a four-night stand of unplugged concerts. The motive, according to Kelly, is to “present the songs undressed in many cases close to how they sounded when they were first written, before being arranged with a band.”
The Snipe is giving away a pair of tickets that include both nights of the musician’s performance, as well as Songs From The South: Paul Kelly’s Greatest Hits and a special promo-only 17-song CD sampler culled from the eight-disc set The A to Z Recordings, which features 105 songs and a 64-page colour booklet of photographs in deluxe hardback packaging.
