NXNE 2010 Juno Party featuring Kathleen Edwards
- by Shawn Conner/photos by Amber Anne Dawkins
We found find ourselves (your Snipe editor/publisher and photog Amber Anne Dawkins) at a private party at the Courthouse on East Adelaide. A NXNE/Juno party, it featured K-OS DJ’ing on a laptop and short sets by Kathleen Edwards (including a new song as well as “The Cheapest Key” off her most recent album Asking for Flowers, and a Ryan Adams cover; funniest moment was when she saw a picture of herself in a slideshow projected on the side wall and remarked, “Hey that’s me, when I was fat!”)(she is looking pretty lean these days) and Arkells.
While there we ran into local celebrity Steve Jordan, the chief commander of the Polaris Prize; the long list will be announced early this afternoon. We’ll have that for you, as well as coverage of the Audio Blood rooftop party and (hopefully) video of Mudhoney and X performing this evening at Yonge and Dundas.
(Thanks to Leah for hooking us up for last night’s party.)
