Montalban Quintet release video for ‘Besa Sorta’ off upcoming debut album

San Diego’s Montalban Quintet will release their self-titled debut album Sept. 6. The band is composed of eight musicians whose past and/or simultaneous present musical exploits include (but are not limited to) Pinback, Sleeping People, The Jade Shader and Boilermaker.
According to the press release, the Montalban Quintet have “infused interests from various musical barrios including post-punk, minimalism, jazz, ‘50s schmaltz, field recordings and new western art music.” The diverse musical background of the various band members contributes to an album that is jazzy, experimental and very refreshing.
