Panda Bear appears on NPR’s All Songs Considered
This week, Panda Bear aka Noah Lennox from Animal Collective appeared on NPR’s All Songs Considered with host Bob Boilen to talk about his upcoming album Tomboy (out April 12 on Paw Tracks).
Lennox played and discussed a few cuts from the forthcoming album including “You Can Count on Me,” “Slow Motion,” and “Last Night at the Jetty.”
You can listen to “Last Night at the Jetty” below:
Lennox began by naming some of the albums that grabbed his attention in his youth, Nirvana‘s Nevermind being of particular significance. He was also inspired by contemporary artists including Mississippi songwriter Dent May, “reclusive electronic maestro” Zomby and his own Animal Collective bandmate, Avey Tare.
Lennox also chose a cut by Spectrum, a project helmed by the album’s mix engineer Peter Kember.
