Sixties icon Jane Birkin plays the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver on Nov 30. The London-born, French-based actress/singer became well-known when she starred in Michelangelo Antonioni’s provocative 1966 film Blow-up. Birkin is also known for her collaboration with French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg on the duet “Je t’aime… moi non plus”, which caused a scandal for its sexual explicitness and was banned by radio stations in Italy, Spain and the UK. Lover/muse of Gainsbourg, Birkin is also mother to their daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg,

In ’71 Birkin collaborated with Serge for the release of his concept album Histoire de Melody Nelson, one of Gainsbourg’s most influential and successful albums.
