Go-Go’s tour dates announced
’80s pop band the Go-Go’s have revived a tour that was derailed last year. Except that instead of a farewell tour, as originally planned, The Ladies Gone Wild Tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of the all-girl group’s hit debut album Beauty and the Beat, a deluxe edition of which is scheduled for a May release. All five original members are still with the band.
Guitarist Jane Weidlin’s knee surgery, acquired during a hiking fall, is what stopped the band last year; obviously they had a chance to re-think calling it quits.
In other Go-Go’s news, the band have joined with Girl Scouts of the USA and Roland Corporation for a national campaign called Girl Scouts Rock! Powered by Roland, which is being called “an initiative to empower girls ages 8-14 through interactive music education workshops.” “We Got the Beat”, one of the hits off of the double-platinum Beauty and the Beat, will be added to the curriculum.
