March of the Penguins’ Émilie Simon releases new album
Award winning musician Émilie Simon releases her new album The Big Machine April 26 on Le Plan. For listeners who can’t wait a month for new material from France’s renowned artist, be sure to check out the Rainbow EP that dropped yesterday on iTunes.
Émilie Simon launched her career in 2003 and earned three Victoires de la Musique (the French equivalent of the Grammys) during the course of her three albums. She has also gained international acclaim for scoring the documentary March of the Penguins. Her first US release was 2006′s The Flower Book, and in 2008 she relocated to Brooklyn where she recorded The Big Machine with talented guests such as Kelly Pratt and Jeremy Gara (Arcade Fire), John Natchez (Beirut) and Mark Plati (David Bowie, The Cure, Brazilian Girls).
