Last Airbender, Eclipse lead 2010 Razzie Awards nominations

The 2010 Razzie Awards nominees were announced today. Leading the pack are The Last Airbender and Eclipse with nine nominations each, while poor Jessica Alba was singled out for bad acting in no fewer than four movies.

Razzie Awards 2010 nominee Twilight Eclipse

Sex and the City 2, one of the worst reviewed films of the year (critics universally mentioned its two-and-a-half hour running length) also makes a few catgories, as do Vampires Suck and The Bounty Hunter. And we’re surprised to not see the universally (except for the Hollywood Foreign Press) panned The Tourist (Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp) absent from the Worst Picture category.

Other notable mentions include Worst Actor nominees Jack Black for Gulliver’s Travels (just sitting through the trailer was agony) and Ashton Kutcher, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, each nominated for two movies. We’re not sure why Cher was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress for Burlesque when Christina Aguilera was so much more awful.

Both Miley Cyrus and father Billy Ray, meanwhile, receive nominations for movies we haven’t (blessedly) heard of (or have wiped clean from our memories). The category of Worst Mis-Use of 3D is timely, as Hollywood scrambled to add bells and whistles to standard-issue junk. Best entry: “Josh Brolin’s Face and Megan Fox’s Accent, Jonah Hex” for Worst Screen Couple/Worst Screen Ensemble.
