Who should play Patti in the story of her early days in NYC?
According to PerezHilton.com, a movie version of Patti Smith’s Just Kids is in the works.
Published early last year, the memoir tells of the singer/poet’s relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in 1970s New York. According to IMDB, Smith is collaborating on the screenplay with Gladiator scriptwriter John Logan.
The question is, which Hollywood actress will land the coveted role? Smith is like the Stephen Hawking of rock ‘n’ roll – everyone says they love her but no one actually listens to her (or, in the case of Hawking, reads his books). Will it be Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, who has already done the rock ‘n’ roll thing as Joan Jett in The Runaways? Or Jennifer Lawrence, whose career will most likely take off with the March 2012 release of The Hunger Games? Or someone out of left-field, like Carey Mulligan, who was so good in An Education?
Who do you think should play they young, bohemian and skinny Patti Smith?

There is only one person who could do it: Lili Taylor http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000666
Good choice!
