We sent intern Romila Barryman to the Kettle Friendship Society, a meeting place for people with mental illness, to talk to some of the artists taking part in the annual Vancouver Eastside Culture Crawl. She got more than she bargained for, including an audience with the mayor and a mysterious Broken Painting.
